Craig Bartlett MSc
Craig has been involved with technology development in the wood supply chain for over 12 years. He worked as Head of Research & Consultancy at the UK Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) until 2008, developing a wide-range of technological solutions in partnership with industry and academia. In 2008 Craig moved into a business development role for an AIM listed cleantech technology provider, where he met Jim New.
Craig has significant experience of writing, performing and managing complex national and European research and development projects including those from FP5 – FP7. He has secured over £5 million of public sector funding and delivered over 20 projects including those for the TSB, WRAP and DEFRA.
In addition to being a director at MDF Recovery Ltd, Craig owns his own Innovation Management business, servicing clients from industry and academia. Craig has a Masters degree in Environmental Management.
Jim New FCMA
Jim New has over 40 years international commercial experience gained in a variety of industrial and investment environments.
He was Finance Manager of a London Stock Exchange-listed cleantech company, developing business models for five environmental technologies with a focus on waste wood recycling. He also served as FD-MD in a London based privately owned venture capital company specialising in early stage companies in the environmental and technology sectors. This followed on from working as FD for one of the “mass-privatisation” investment funds in Poland.
His experience includes Finance Director/General Manager for a large multinational operating the security and technology sectors in North and South America (De la Rue).
